The handset provides users with many features including a full keypad, a high resolution display of 480 by 360 pixels, 65,000 colours, and selectable fonts, 1GB of internal memory plus 128MB of flash memory which can be further expanded with the addition of a microSD card. The phone has impressive email support, WiFi and satnav. The Blackberry Bold makes it possible to perform high-speed data transfers as it provides support for HSDPA-enable 3G technology.

The handset provides support to all email standards such as push email, web-based email, personal email accounts, optional new device accounts and it is compatible with various servers and attachments sent via email can be viewed in many formats. Security is very tight on this handset and users are provided with the use of a keyboard lock, password protection and support for encryption when accessing data via the Blackberry enterprise Server.

The Blackberry Bold is available in a high-shine silver and black finish with curved edges and weighs 136g, measuring 114 by 66 with a depth of 15mm. The ample sized handset makes full use of a QWERTY keypad making it easy for users to quickly create messages.
Other features include the added extra of conference calling and a speakerphone, making full handsfree operation possible as the handset also houses a Bluetooth headset and voice activated dialling.
The phone incorporates a 2 megapixel camera with LED flash which takes photos and video clips as well as a media player which provides users with entertainment in the form of music tracks and videos. The media player supports MP3, MIDI, WMA, AMR-NB, 3GP formats and partial DivX. Music can be synched to the phone via a PC using the software provided and third party earphones can be used via the 3.5mm headset jack. Connectivity options include WLAN, Bluetooth 2.0 and USB.

An impressive feature of this phone is the included GPS navigation which can provide users with directions both on foot as well as acting as a satnav for a car.
