Often time and money are often commodities older generations have, and those with the financial ability to do often enjoy a few weeks away at a time in sunnier climes than at home, and increasing numbers of them are choosing the Mediterranean island of Cyprus.

While owners can often rent out at a good rate in the peak summer months, being able to have some rental income off season is beneficial for them financially and ensures maintenance and security are being kept an eye on instead of having their villas closed up, they are prepared to take four to twelve week bookings at a fraction of the normal cost, ensuring Cyprus villa holidays are an option for those who want to escape the northern European winters.

For those who do opt for holiday villas in Cyprus there is the chance to prepare their own meals and experience the Mediterranean diet if wanted by buying the ingredients locally at markets frequented by the Cypriots, or from local shops. And with most of the villas within easy reach of the local amenities - some within walking distance - there is always the choice of eating out at many of the restaurants that stay open throughout the year, and not just the tourist season unlike some of the Mediterranean islands.

And while there might be snow at home, or wind and rain, the island has good weather year round conducive to good health, and the climate and weather in Cyprus is sometimes enough in itself to attract visitors from northern Europe outside of the summer months.

During the summer Ayia Napa is ideal for the younger generation - for the older generations the island isn't just good for the summer, it's ideal year round.
